Joseph Awad
Joseph Awad is an attorney/partner at Silberstein, Awad & Miklos, P.C., New York. A board-certified trial attorney, Mr. Awad dedicates his practice for trial and appellate advocacy on behalf of consumers in medical malpractice, construction site injury, premise security, automobile accidents, municipal liability, and unsafe products. In 1976, he attended the State University of New York at Binghamton for his undergraduate studies, where he received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award and Departmental Honors, Foreign Policy. In 1981, Mr. Awad attended Albany Law School of Union University and earned his Juris Doctor. As a result of his academic achievements, he received the Albany Law School Full Tuition Merit Scholarship. An indefatigable attorney, his experience includes million-dollar recoveries in more than forty cases, including the highest jury and appellate award in a single year. Some of his notable appellate advocacy cases include Kletnieks v. Hertz, 54 A.D.3d 660 (2nd Dept., 2008), David v. County of Suffolk, 1 N.Y.3d 525 (N.Y., 2003), Serfaty v. New York City Transit Authority, 254 A.D.2d 476 (2nd Dept., 1998), and Epstein v. Eastman Kodak Co., Inc., 225 A.D.2d 516 (2nd Dept., 1996). As a result of his extensive experience and education, Mr. Awad often conducts lectures and presentations. He held presentations at various organizations, including the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, National Crime Victim Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, several local bar associations, the Judiciary, and New York State Judicial Institute (2002-2006).
